The Xbox 360 hasn’t been particularly successful in Japan, and a large part of that is the cultural divide between the North American and Asian markets. The genres and styles that are popular on this side of the pond don’t translate particularly well, and it’s up to Xbox Japan to tackle this problem.
Well…here’s what they got (from Kotaku, the Xbox Japan site appears to be experiencing difficulties). I can’t tell if it’s the manic energy that the brand needs or a misguided effort to heavily Japanese brand a predominantly American product, but they’re fun spots with a goofy mascot.
With a weekly sell rate that’s often surpassed by the PlayStation 2, why not?
